Handmade solid Oak bench with rounded ends, underside and straight turned legs. The rounded ends and soft edges and upholstered cushion top makes this piece very look organic and is very tactile.
Each piece is handmade by me to order, it is planed, jointed and smoothed with a cabinet scraper to give a fine finish. The legs are hand turned and fixed into position using contrasting timber wedges.
The benches up to 1.5m long are made from 25mm solid European Oak and benches over 1.5m are made from 32mm solid Oak (Centre leg is used on pieces over 1.5m). The legs are turned from 32mm Oak which make it an extremely strong and durable piece of furniture. (No assembly is required unless sent internationally).
The cushion top is a composite foam cushion made of a high density core and firm topper. This gives a firm but comfortable seat that requires minimal maintenance and longevity.
The Velvet is a 100% Polyester that is very soft and hard-wearing it has achieved a Rub Test of over 100,000 means it exceeds UK requirements for both domestic and contract upholstery. It is a super easy clean quality which helps to repel liquids and there really is no reason not to love this fabric!
